Destination Division

What’s Different?

·         Weekly dues are $75 per team instead of $50, Greens Fees at Players would be $50.  

·         Teams that win the playoffs in this divisions will automatically be entered into the once a year destination division tournament to compete to win a cruise for their whole team!

·         The extra $25 per week will be placed in a separate fund specifically to pay for the cruise vacation for the winning team(s).

·         The number of participating destination division teams will determine the details of the cruise – length of cruise, type of room, flights, etc. 

·         We need 10 teams to start this division up.  We are open to smaller division in different areas, but those would be on top of the 10 teams.  

·         If we get enough participation, we are open to sending more than one team each for 8-Ball and 9-Ball!

·         This is a YEARLY division, 20 matches per year.  May, June, July, & August will each have 1 match per month, September-April will each have 2, first week of May will be playoffs. 

What’s the same?

·         All APA national rules and local bylaws will still be followed 

·         All divisions and teams will still compete in all the normal APA events – Tri-Annuals, World Qualifiers, MVPs, etc. – Meaning there aren’t separate Tri-Annuals and Vegas World Qualifiers, they are competing with the rest of the regular league in these events.

·         All scores and payments will be submitted just like regular divisions.

·         All eligibility requirements are same for players and teams.

·         Teams must retain originality once they win playoffs through the Destination Division Cruise Tournament.

IMPORTANT NOTES!

·         Format will be Double Jeopardy 8&9-Ball Open Team

o   If we can add 20-30 additional 8&9-Ball teams, we might also be eligible for more team slots in Vegas!

·         Teams can win BOTH a trip to Vegas and the Cruise if they are successful!

·         We will not be playing pool on the cruise – This is strictly a vacation to enjoy some downtime with your pool family!

·         The cruise will be scheduled for the following March (2027) in order to give teams time to plan, save money for spending & extra fees (if any) and assure they can get time off work in case they also win to go to Vegas.

·         For this first year, teams will be playing to go to Vegas in August 2026, and then the cruise in March 2027.
