Players Billiards
12pm doors, 1pm start
This event uses a $30 suggested donation per player, but donations are not required to participate.
Short-rack format
Teams of 3, randomly drawn
Fun, fair, social play
Current APA members
Friends & family who want to support or experience the event (Hopefully we get a few of you to join the APA permanently)
A Saratoga rack is basically short-rack 8-ball.
Instead of the full 15-ball rack, you only use:
Balls 1 through 7
The 8-ball
The balls are racked in a small diamond (just like 9-Ball), and the game plays just like regular 8-ball — solids vs. stripes. Players simply alternate turns and shoot until all balls are gone. Whoever makes the 8-Ball Wins!
Prizes
APA-branded items
APA goodie bags with snacks and treats
This event proudly supports the athletes on Team NJ going to the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games in Minnesota in June.
The 2026 USA Games will bring together all 50 states for a weeklong competition in several different Olympic type sports. Team NJ is comprised of over 100 members competing in 12 of the 16 sports offered at the games.
Our mission is simple: to make sure each athlete has everything they need to compete, feel confident, and shine on the biggest stage.
All money raised will directly cover all essential expenses for every athlete, including:
Training opportunities
Uniforms, and clothing for the week
Travel & Stay
And so much more!
Every dollar goes to Team NJ giving these athletes a full, unforgettable national competition experience.
This cause is especially close to our hearts. The Jersey Shore APA is proud to have one of our own league member's son representing New Jersey in the Special Olympics. Supporting this event means supporting not just an incredible statewide program, but also a cherished member of our APA family—and every athlete standing beside them.
Thank you for helping us champion inclusion, opportunity, and the incredible athletes of Special Olympics New Jersey.
Bryan Huntley, a 28-year-old from Brick, has been involved with Special Olympics for several years. He participated in volleyball during the fall of the 2024-2025 season, as well as bowling and golf in 2025. Special Olympics has significantly impacted Bryan's life by helping him make new friends and enjoy working with his team. Bryan takes great pride in his performance and leadership, especially in tight situations where he can help others.
Attending the USA Games is a significant honor for Bryan, as it means representing his state and enjoying the competitive atmosphere. To prepare, Bryan has been diligently practicing. Although he has not participated in the USA Games before, he is looking forward to the experience.
In addition to sports, Bryan enjoys playing golf, bowling, ice hockey, and spending time with friends. He works at Jumping Brook Country Club in Outside Operations.
